UserID: 455 | Hello I'm new here, I was wondering if the K-Mod is possible on the 1500 - since it has two PC tanks. If so, to mod it would I just put balloons around both, or just one? The 1500 seems rather flimsy. Has anyone had long-term success with the K-mod without the gun's internals snapping? Thanks. ![]() |

UserID: 131 | Hey, welcome. BTW the CPS 1500 has only one PC. The one in the front is only plastic. K-modding a CPS 1500 has been done before. I remember someone trying it out and they said they liked their regular stats rather than the K-modded stats. The CPS 1500 is good gun in itself, but has major flaws. I know from experience, the trigger valve is pretty weak. If you do decide to K-mod, I highly suggest you reinforce the internals just to be safe.

UserID: 75 | Racer k-modded his 1500 last year, but reverted to stock because he prefered stock shot time and output. If you want to k-mod that gun, I would recommend a low number of balloons [like 30-40] and reinforcement of the internals that will be under pressure, like the trigger valve.

UserID: 83 | Mmm... I K-Modded it with only 15 balloons, and I'll tell you that even with that low amount, the shot time dropped 5 seconds and only gained a bit more power and 3 feet of range. I wouldn't reccomend K'ing this gun.

UserID: 131 | A stock CPS 1500 already shoots just under 50 feet (around 48-49 feet) and has really good shot time. It's considered by many to be the best all around soaker to be built. I was thinking for a short time to K-mod mine, but it's just so perfect already.

That's just about what I was thinking. The CPS 1500/CPS 1700 is such a good gun stock that, when you consider the likely difficulties you'll encounter when trying to modify it, it doesn't seem worth doing so. You could put a dowel in the handle though, in any case.

UserID: 288 | I always wanted to actually, be able to look at the inside of something, and be able to modify it, since I was four. My first soaker was the 1500, and is a very good gun already, and the K-mod is sort of hard, but you might do something stupid like I did by breaking my 1-3-5. I wouldn't risk breaking it. Oh yeah, and some good advice keep the cap on while it is in storage in winter.

UserID: 131 | I find that the K-mod it self isn't what breaks the soaker. It's usually when you do the check valve freeze that you screw up and break your gun.

UserID: 75 | Check valve issues don't even break your gun for that long, they are just annoying. I agree that the actual k-mod rarely, if ever, is responsible for breaking one's gun. Sometimes there is a trigger valve problem after k-modding, but those are often linked to overpressurization.
