the screws on guns can't be in places where it goes through a pipe or something, so if you use just the right size drill bit and be VERY CAREFUL it should go fine...that's what I did on my MXL...

But I'm a klutz! Don't have other solutions?

I don't know if it is really worth it to spend so much time fixing a splash fire...that's like, your worst gun? BTW have you actually tried lubricating it?

lubricate it using oil or vaseline...I use bicycle oil...ran out...need to get more...and also lubricate the pump track, on my storm it was nearly impossible to pump even after I lubricated the shaft...so I didn't use it...one day I tried lubricating the pump track...then the pump glided really easy.

I did sometime to the pump shaft that helped with the problem some time ago, and that repair is still there.

No it wasn't. I was just expressing two ideas in one sentence without having it be a run-on sentence.

stop trying to flame people to get your posts up,

back on topic: have you lubricated it yet?

Yes I just did. I learned two things

(1) The lubricant didn't work.
(2) I am allgeric the lubricant.
