I'd like to know how many of our members found SSCentral. I'll be using this information to help us catch more "quality" visitors as some SEO (search engine optimization) guides put it. Please post as honestly as possible.

Our site statistics do have a "referrer log," but this log only shows sites that have given us traffic in the past month. Accessing older statistics is possible (I do it all the time), but as it turns out many of the links have changed.

Honestly, I don't exactly remember. I believe I found SSC through the first WWn, though I am not sure. It is weird however, that when I look at the members list, I was number 40 something. Now SSc has over 300 members. Pity not all of them post.

^ That's exactly what I'm trying to improve. Problem is, we received a ton of people who joined but didn't post. Quality visitors are the ones that would be more interested in your site and more likely to send you an email and actively use the forums. Having more hits doesn't necessarily mean that a site will get more use, you need to focus your attention on getting quality visitors.

Since everyone who would post here has shown at least enough quality to do so, I am hoping that if I see how these people found SSCentral I could make changes to get more people like this.

You can tell how effective we are in this buy dividing the total number of posts by the number of member to find how many posts on average each member makes.

SSCentral: 63.42
iSoaker: 58.68
Water-Talk: 21.85

Water-Talk's statistic is low probably because it started out in the off-season and hasn't got any real posting going. SSCentral and iSoaker.com are right on top of each other, suggesting that most water gun websites get about the same visitors quality-wise.

Are you referring to the site, the forums or both? I probably saw the site before I joined the forums, I can't remember exactly, through a Google search. I first saw, and joined, the forums after the CPS 3000 give-away was announced on iScF.

I found SSC via Belisaurius when I was in Waterbridge last January. And Nibordude found SSC through me. Nice chain reaction there. Teams often refer members to sites like this one.

Thanks you all. I suppose we've got the tech stuff down, time to move on to other things.

There seems to be two big groups of people in finding SSCentral. Those who heard about it at the various forums or in real life, and those who were looking for water gun technology related items. Of course, there are other smaller groups, but those appear to be the most major.

I can't really remember how I found SSCentral. I remember that I had been reading iSc for some time, but then I came across SSC (maybe Google? I'm not sure) and was hooked by the 'Frankenstein' design that was then up there. If I remember rightly, fairly soon after that, I joined the forums. Later I joined WWN and the Waterbridge forums.

^ That's not as helpful as I'd like. What were you looking for on Google? There are many ways to find most any site on Google.

I joined when WW.net went down. I had seen the site beforehand, but had never paid much attention to the forums.
And I also got two other people to join, Eyleascial and Gamefreakie (Gamefreakie hasn't validated yet.)
