4th grade to like 6th grade. Now my cards sit in a box. Should be a small fortune some day.

I just sold my cards at a garage sale. I think I've only got ancient mew now. I also stopped a number of years back. The big fad passed. Now everyone hates it at my school. If you like it your considered weird.

4th and 5th grades, when it was at it's peak. Collected a little during 6th grade, but stopped in the same year. I really should have sold back then, now my cards are probably worth 1/8 of what they were in 2000.

I stopped collecting a LONG time ago. Maybe 5 years ago. I have over 50 halo's I think. Including a 2nd (rare) edition Charizard. I stopped collecting because after a while I realized that it was just stupid to keep collecting.
you realize second editions are worth LESS than regular base set ones right?

No. Actually I have no idea what my collection is worth, considering I haven't looked at my cards in over 5 years. All I can remember is the Charizard. So if it costs less so be it.

Edit: I figured out I must of confused people. There was a type of renewal type cards that had 2's on them. The 2nd edition I'm talking about is after the first edition. They reformatted the cards after the first edition. Cards would have a shadow behind the boarder of the picture. The first editions had no shadow. A few cards after the first editions had no shadow, and my charizard is one of them.

In other words, his Charizard is from the original base set, but not 1st Edition. Each year a pokemon card collection devalues by a lot. A charizard in 1998 could fetch hundreds of dollars. Now they are not worth much at all. I think that if you retain a collection now, it has devalued by more than 50% from 1998. If you want to sell, don't be like me who has waited for years. Do it ASAP while your cards still have some value. It's like waiting to sell a 10 year old car, you will lose money if you wait longer to sell.

Yes, but sometimes if you wait a long time where you can't find it anywhere it's price will go up. btw sorry Doom.

Usually that is correct, but it won't happen with Pokemon. Pokemon was a fad, and the value of the cards takes the form of a parabola with the height of value of the cards corresponding to the height of popularity of the fad. Which means that your cards were not worth much when they first came out, they were worth the most in 1998 at the height of the Pokemon craze, and they now will devalue every day you wait to sell.

2nd and 3rd grades for me, and a little bit in 4th grade. I still play the original games for GBC, but only when I'm really, really bored.

You can pretty much ignore the times on that, I rarely ever have Xfire on when I play. I should, though.
