I need some european rock/metal bands to add to a list (I'm making a CD). So far, I have:

Take Me Out-Franz Ferdinand (Scotland)
Sonne-Rammstein (Germany)
Last Train Home-Lostprophets (Wales)
Creep-Radiohead (England)
Walk Idiot Walk-The Hives (Sweden)

That's it. I need about 18 songs in total.

Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back In Town. I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but hope it helps.

Love on the Rocks with no Ice - The Darkness (UK)

Aren't Opeth Swedish? You could also always have The Rasmus who I think are Finnish (If you want a particular track, then In the Shadows would probably be best).

Yeah, Opeth are swedish but I want one band from each European nation. Also I've made the list international, so it can include bands from South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. For Australia I have:

Israel's Son-Silverchair

Um, what are you counting as a nation? You have the UK but then Wales as well. Are you counting it as the UK or England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?

Holy moly. I meant every separate country in Europe. Wales and Scotland are considered separate from England (which is what I meant by U.K.).

Well, be careful with your terminology. You don't want to offend anyone...

England <> UK
Wales <> UK
Scotland <> UK
Northern Ireland <> UK
England + Wales + Scotland + Northern Ireland = UK

Well unless you have a band from Ireland, I'm done with the UK. I'm really looking for bands from southern, central, and western Europe.

One of the best bands to ever come out of the UK is U2. Infact, I'm going to list some of my favorite songs by them.

Beautiful Day
One
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Where the Streets Have no Name
Vertigo

There's some other German metal bands out like Megaherz, Schweisser, and KMFDM. As far as the rest of Europe goes, there's Arcturus, Opeth (as Forceuser said), and Ozzy (can't forget him). :P

Anyway:

Rammstein - Engel
Tool - Eulogy

I just purchased two CDs. Both of them are worth the money I spent:

Reise, reise (The newest Rammstein album)

This album isn't too different from Mutter (their last full album) but has some awesome tracks like Ohne Dich, Amerika, Mein Teil, and Los (my favourite, which includes an aggresive and abstract acoustic riff throughout the song).

Red Hot Chili Peppers Greatest Hits

I love the bass in all of their songs, and me, being a bass guitar player myself, benefits from listening to this CD constantly. This one has all their best songs from since they started on 1983 like Californication, Give It Away, and Fortune Faded. The only complaint I have is that it's lacking one song (Around The World, which has an amazing bass line that dominates the entire track).

Overall, I'm quite content. Other than my new CDs, I just recently listened to:

Paranoid-Black Sabbath
Sweet Child o' Mine-Guns n' Roses
Santeria-Sublime
