Today I was using my CPS 2700 when, suddenly, I heard a snap. The pump cap snapped off! It will still work, but it comes out every once in a while. Any ideas for a repair?

Also, my dad's 1700 is starting to shoot while pumping. It doesn't do this all the time, but it does occasionally. Again, any ideas for a repair?

Im not sure what you mean about the 2700, but this might help

Use this or the rubber band equivalent to fix the 1700 before it gets any worse.

Besides, my article includes the rubber band version, just not a picture for it. Soaker Leader, do you even read the articles? It seems that you only look at the pictures because you miss key details.

Thanks, BlueSmudge, that is similar to what I'm looking for. However, the screws in the gun are nearly rusted out. Would it be possible to put it on the outside?

I'll show the other link to my dad, but he probably won't do anything. He isn't really into water guns (in general) and really doesn't want to open his gun.

Well, maybe Aqua Pack in 2005 will be an adequate replacement...

Yeah, you just need a larger cap, and maybe some epoxy. If you can't open the gun anyways, the epoxy won't be hurting anything.

Well, I did a repair on my 2700. It probably won't last long, but it holds together. Thank goodness for tape! Soon, I'll fix it more with duct tape.

EDIT: Also, I found a CPS 2700 and 1700 at a yard sale. I can't wait to go up against Dad! Two 2700's and a backup 1700 against a broken 1700! I can see it now...

Sweet find, trekkie!

The closest thing I have to CPS is a water worm. I guess I'll have to hope the 05' line of soakers is good, or that meh local Wal*mart stocks up on the WW line. Aqua pak forever! Wooo!
