Well it already has more power than the MXL, but to make it shoot more water, you'd have to do a nozzle drill, which would increase output, but lower range and shot time. You should check out the Modifications section of this website.

The 2500, lacks the power to acheive what you want. From what I have heard, the 20x is weak, and the 25ishx you are planning will likely just droop, not getting any range.

the 20x is not that weak, it still packs a good punch and has good range ( my sister would confirm that )
but yeah, the 2500 is better left unmodded, as its just awesome the way it is (besides reinforcing the trigger, etc...)

The 20x from the CPS 2500 isnt bad at all. Considering the shot blast time, however, I would say that you should stick with the normal nozzle and consider improving your tactics to outmaneuver your opponent, who has the much larger and more cumbersome monster xl.

I beg to differ. Shoot a 2500 20x and 3000/3200 20x side by side and see the difference. The 2500 might edge it in range, but it's so brief and lacking in oomph in comparison. A drilled 20x in a 2700 also has more juice than a 2500's, despite not being designed for one.
