Default cps minimization instructions

this started when the trigger broke on my cps 2000 that i got for 5 bucks. i tried to fix the tracked triger, but it kept breaking in half. so i tried a wire trigger, but it would bend. then i tested the gun without the case, just to see if it works right. it worked perfectly, so i decided to do the minimization mod. it went through several vaarieations, but this one is the best, as it has a strap.
first i used string to atach the pump more securely to the tank by running it through the hole for the strap, then through the space between the shaft and the cheeck valve, then through the hole for the strap and tyed it tight.
next i put a keyring in the hole, and added the strap. you want the strap as small as you can make it.
then i used the wire from a spiral notebook, and used it to atach the covering on the pc to a carbiner clip. then i clipped the pc to the strap(mine has a special loop for this, but you may not need it).
to use it, you put the strap around your left shoulder, and pump like normal, until the pc is full. then you use your right hang to pull on the valve where the trigger was once conected.

Minimalization should not come at the expense of ergonomics and usability. For triggers, I always use the sheet metal repair; cut out some sheet metal shaped appropriately, and epoxy (Gorilla glue also works if it's fresh) them to the sides of the trigger and it'll hold up for a good year or even two if you do it right. You will likely have to take a dremel, sandpaper, or use the sheet metal cutters to fix up the blaster's frame so that the trigger fits.

Similar solution to this: http://www.sscentral.org/repairs/snapped_trigger.html

But ALWAYS glue pieces to the SIDES. The underside doesn't matter all that much and it won't hold together as well if you only glue that part together. (It will break sooner.)

So you chopped up a 2000 when a almost invisible repair would do? If things don't work, ask before cutting on a big change like this. This significantly lowered the guns value, even lower than a non-working 2000.

You can use epoxy putty on a 2000 trigger. Pliers can make room for the putty on the sides of the trigger since the thin plastic plates next to the trigger come out cleanly in one pull. With a little bit of sanding on those plate nubs, it's like it never happened. Properly mixed putty will last...I don't even use it on PRV disabling anymore because it's too strong (something else will go before it does). You just blew hundreds of dollars worth of value out of that gun.

it is only temporary, until i can go to a hardware store, as the nearest one is 2 hours away. i did not cut a thing, and i will restore it to its former glory this winter. i can easily convert it to its origonal state. i still have the case, and that is still in mint condition. besides, the trigger was unable to pull the valve all the way, so it wouldent fire, and the spring behind the trigger rusted in half. it will take alot of work to compleatly fix my mk1, but it will be worth it. o, and the tracked pump handle broke where the screws are. any repair suggestions will be helpful.
(to dx) Yankees rule!

Glad to see it is still reconstructable.

Epoxy or epoxy putty will work, just be careful to line up the screw holes correctly.

does anyone have a pump handle, or plans for one, as it will be much aprecieated. after i restore the gun i will cease to do anything to the onlt gun i can mod. its not like i paid all that much for it, and how much are mk1s worth, anyways. it was fun, but i have only 3 other guns at the moment, and 2 suck. i cant evan open my splashfire, and the pointbreak sucks, with the 6 oz. tank, 1 inch pump, pinch trigger, and virtualy no internals whatsoever.
any one want to buy or trade for my splashfire? it needs work to increase range, and is somewhat rare. few have heard of or seen it on the site.

I believe GJiv was looking for a pump handle as well. Did you try epoxy? A 2500 pump would work as well.
