Default Best Gun for this Scenario?

I'm going to have a soakfest soon with all of my bandmates. From my last year's experience, I saw a bunch of ABs, a sneak attack, a Shotblast, and a small AP. This year I'll probably encounter an FF and probably a few Tornado Strikes/Thunderstorms, maybe even a Hydro Cannon. Out of my armory, My two best are my XP 310 and my IM2. I will be fighting in a park with open areas as well as a playground for some CQB. Which should I bring?

What is an IM2? Well the xp 310 would give you a decent chance. Otherwise I think you need a better gun. Especially for a soakfest.

Haha, I've been calling it the Iron Man instead of Iron Man 2 this whole time, my bad.

@OP: Get a Hydro Cannon, Gorgon, and/or Sphynx. HC is unnecessary if you don't plan to mod it though especially since the IM2 has better PC volume.

My favorite blaster that I have for soakfests: CPS 2700. (Haven't used backpack based CPS 3200/3000 so I wouldn't know.) 800mL PC volume and roughly 1 gallon of reservoir lets you take the fight to them. Plus I drilled out the 2X nozzle with a 3.8" bit which, while very short range and with relatively short shot time, will soak more in a direct hit than a CPS 2000a2 will. (Original 2k's bladder stretches 100mL more water, so no cigar there =\.)

Thanks CA_99. I'll keep that in mind. However, I managed very well with just a Shotblast last year. They're a bunch of noobs running around spraying and praying. The IM2 is a good blaster, but i don't like having to pump the whole PC up again after using the riot blast. Thanks for the advice.

I'd rather pump up a PC than use a blaster that shoots half as well as a pressurized blaster, but that's just me. You can always drill out the main nozzle and use that more often, and put a nozzle on the riot blast so you probably won't have to use the whole thing at once. (I say probably because I'm not sure if the valve is able to close by itself while the riot blast is shooting. Of course, you could always use it sparingly and carefully anyways.)

Use the Iron man 2 for this soak fest, and just not use the riot blast that much unless in certain situations. It can shoot farther than whatever they have. And yes the CPS 2700 is probably about the best for a soak fest.

Which shoots farther? The IM2 or the XP310? What if the 310 is prepressurized? For close quarters I'll probably build a masterkey on the 310.

Also I don't have the time or money to buy a discontinued gun, I'll have to use what I have. And it's a small skirmish, no rules and no one except me knows about the Tap-Pump and other techniques.

You could just drill one of the 310's nozzles instead of wasting time, money, and adding excessive weight to the 310. What would you use for the shotgun anyways? Best solution for water warfare would be to have a second trigger activate a riot blast positioned elsewhere, maybe hooked to a second PC, but it's not really all that necessary. (Whereas in real war, shotguns are used to clear buildings and attachments are used to avoid having to switch weapons and to make the load lighter.)

IM2 definitely shoots farther if you optimize the nozzles. It's far more powerful than the 310 after all. Otherwise, they seem to get about the same range, though I can't be entirely sure on that. The riot blast technically tends to get more range than the streams which may be surprising sometimes.

You could also just get a Vindicator (2009/2010) or Gorgon or Sphynx, or even Max-D 6000 as they get more range than the 310.

I would get test the range, power, and possibly shot time and get the best out of them.

Check the dates of the previous posts. This was over 2 months ago. The event also got cancelled. The reason that he posted here is that he did not want to have to buy and test all the guns. Also, shot time is way more important in a soakfest than range.
