Default DC area war 2010

I'm looking to host a large water war in the DC metro area this summer. Below is a link to a poll with different dates. You can choose multiple dates.

Please vote if you are interested. Post here too after you've voted to bump the thread. Thanks.

My parents just took a road trip to Maryland this weekend. If I knew you were planning this I might have been able to delay the trip until this happens so I could go along and probably get to the war. I don't even have a car around, much less am I able to take a road trip by myself.

Who knows, with any luck I might be able to get my friends to go along with it...

I'll post back if there's any remote chance I can make it.

I will be in DC proper for most of the summer, so my chances of going are good. Don't know what my Saturdays will look like yet, though.

C-A_99, I would have posted this earlier if I had remembered. Sorry. I'd love to see you there.

Nice to hear that you'll be around DX! If you want to meet up any time before then, that would be nice.

Would you be able to get me a ride to Apoc? Just wondering. I'll need one.

@Ben:

My internship ends on the 6th of August, which I believe is the day before Apoc. I could arrange to have a car in DC that weekend and drive by early in the morning on the 7th. This would be doable if planned in advance.

I don't think that many of the dates will work. I have lax touries throughout the summer on the weekends especially.

Well it is indeed a stretch of chances, but I have a lot of friends who drive and attend my wars regularly. With enough luck I may be able to show up, but I'll wait until a date is found first. I should be free all of those dates but I have to see what friends are doing. The chances of it happening aren't high enough right now for me to have a say in when the event should be, and I haven't the slightest clue to my friends' schedules, so once a date is picked I'll do my best to work around it.

I'm in Virginia also so I'd feel bad if I couldn't make it. I don't know much at the moment, but I think later summer would be best. Don't take my responses seriously.

Doesn't this site allow you to choose "maybe" in some polls? Maybe it's a similar site, then, as we had polls for some Physics exams.

Good to see you around Silence. How was your semester? Maybe we should start a new thread about that.

I haven't used Doodle much, so I don't know all the features of the poll, but I'll look into that.

Well, I discussed this with some friends and at least two of them are up for it and both can drive. I'll start a Facebook group to get them together and we'll see who's available when.

One question though. Is it possible for us to have a multi-day meetup instead of just one day? Driving 10 hours for just a day of water warfare is rather counter-intuitive for me.

I notified some other community members on this. M4 will likely attend though he hasn't posted here. However, I can't reach the team leader of the team I warred with (Mizukage Tactical Unit) in South Lyon (known as Evangel on iSoaker though he's been fairly inactive lately).

Edit: Along with a more-than-one-day event, I'm wondering where and what kind of location the war will be in, how long it'll be (i.e. several hours, overnight for night wars, etc.), and what sort of games we'll play. Everyone can contribute their own sample of what their group plays, whether it's DX's wars in the woods or my informal assault/defense soakfests and 1 hit respawn games. Of course, it's quite early to think about this, but we got to consider those things eventually.

Submitted. I may be free sometime in July, I have not been given my orders on when I am working at FT Bragg. I will let y'all know once I find out.

Ben, I've been fine, what about you? Good to see everyone's still around, and hopefully I won't completely disappear next time I enter the bubble that is college life.

C-A_99, I can't speak for the others but I personally could only come for the length of a single water war. But I understand the trip is a much larger commitment for you. I don't suppose you have any interest in regular sightseeing?

I could sightsee as well, as one of my friends wanted to visit the White House and some other places, but I'd still prefer to go there primarily for the wars.

I have three other friends up for the road trip, so once you guys find a date, we should be able to go. The three others haven't responded to when they're available; they may not know yet, but most likely most of us should be able to make it on all the listed dates.

If anyone needs a place to stay, I have a triple room at American University in DC proper. I'm currently the only occupant, so there are beds for two and space for several. It's a 3 minute walk from a metro station.
