Cross referencing error?

Post by CROC » Thu May 21, 2009 1:51 am

When I tried to open a link to another thread from the one I was currently in, my Avast Antivirus showed up and said the following:

Code: Select all

File Name: http://forums.sscentral.org/t4790/\{gzip}
Malware name: JS:Agent-AV [Trj]
Malware type: Trojan Horse
VPS version: 090520-0, 05/20/2009
Is something wierd going on with my computer, or is it just that Avast is being crazy?

Actually, I think someone else might have mentioned the same thing about that thread or a similar one on iSoaker.net.

The thread is iSoaker's summary of hijack on WaterWarfare.com, which prompted us to close those forums. It includes some quoted (but escaped) JavaScript code. Your antivirus software probably picked it up and thought it was active hijack code on Super Soaker Central, itself.
