Almost Lost Soakermedia.net

Post by DX » Sun Jun 22, 2008 7:17 am

...Turns out Soakermedia was expired for 3 days before I logged into my email and saw that status. I had it on auto-renew, but it failed...I evidently had $2 left in my account and payment was declined...

I have it back now and hopefully will regain control in about 24-48 hours. That was scary...renew your domains manually ahead of time...yep yep. I don't even really need the name anymore...except that it is still my main domain and everything else fails without it lol.

Good thing you caught that in time! So, any ETA on its update/upgrade? :p

Well, I'm glad soakermedia.net didn't turn out like sscentral.net. That would be bad.

I just checked all of mine. We're good here until 2009, trettel.org has until 2009, nerfdb.com (which I'll use eventually) has until 2010, and supersoaker.org has until 2010.

Any news about what's going on there would be appreciated too.

Soakermedia was expired, but not deleted. The nameserver info and everything was still retrievable automatically, so now it's back up and running. I only renewed for a year, however, as I may switch primary domains and phase it out.

WWC, SM, and WFo are all not working. Anything wrong with your hosting DX? I hope it's just a temporary problem.

I noticed this earlier today. I should have followed it up. But I'll confirm that the problem has been going on all day it seems...I haven't checked in a while though so I don't know how many days it's been.

Yeah, I haven't checked for a while too so I was unsure how long it's been down. The worst case scenario is that we revert WWC to a backup I have from May 20th. Nearly nothing occurred since then so it's a good backup. I don't know about SM, WFo, or whatever else was hosted there.
