Blazer
Lengths= 24 inches
Pumps= 33
Shot Time:
3mm(4X)= 9 seconds
2.5mm= 13 seconds
2mm(2X)= 17 seconds
1.8mm= 23 seconds
1mm(1X)= 53 seconds
The Blazer Combines the power and stream of a CPS with the shot time and pumping style of an Airpressure soaker. As far as I am concerned, the "Diaphram Technology" is a step up to CPS technology. The pump is a new form of trackmpounted pump. It does take 33 pumps to fully pressurize, but its as easy and smooth like an XP pump. By the time a CPS pump pumped 1 time, the Blazer pumped 2-3 times. I consider the electronic pressure gauge unnecessary, but its still useful. You can take the batteries out if you wish, and the performance would not change. It has about the same length and colours as a CPS2100, making it seem like a twin from a parallel universe. The strap is fairly comfortable and also easy to remove, something which can not be said for other soakers.
The Blazer is quite capable to reach 40 feet, and you are actually able to pump while shooting,which a CPS can not do. All nozzles have an incredible shot time making even most XPs look bad. The 4 smaller nozzles have a drop off for about 0.5-1 seconds.Other than that, they are fairly constant. The largest nozzle does not have a drop off at all. I repeat, no drop off at all. The 10th second is a wet misty air shot showing that there still is pressure in the diaphram chambers after the water is gone.
The largest thick stream looks like a 5X stream. It is much larger than the 2.5X stream of the CPS2700. Power wise, the CPS2100 is a bit more powerful. But one has to remember that the PC of the CPS2100 was made for a 5X-7X soakage. The Blazer PC was made for a 4X soakage. If you would add another diaphram chamber, the Blazer would easily outpower the CPS2100. It is best to compare the Blazer with the SC600 which also has a small nozzle with CPS technology, showing that the Blazer has a lot more force and soakage than the SC600 and underlining the power and vast potential of diaphram technology.
The Blazer has the best of both CPS and Air Pressure worlds. And overall, Diaphram technology is a step up to CPS. For the first large generation 1 Blaster, Water Warriors did an extremely good job. One can only imagine what kind of performances future cannons could do with diaphram technology. Clearly the Blazer is the best water gun in stores in 2003 and 2004. It would not be wise to buy another soaker first than the Blazer this year.(Im not being payed by Buzz Bee toys. Im just saying what my impression is about the Blazer.) Also price wise the Blazer is a bargain. Its $19.99CAN in Canada, and $19.99US in USA. I got the Blazer for $19.95 CAN, which was about the same price as the SoakerTag model with the ridiculous disk on it, showing its an extremely good deal for Canadians. So if you can pick it up, pick it up.
[Edit April 28] Blazer Re-evaluation: Ihave compared the shot between the blazer with the CPS1500 5X nozzle. Also with the CPS1000 5X nozzle. I still like the stretched out shot time of the Blazer, but after a constant back and forward, I do miss the explosive power of the 98 CPS soakers. I guess I should not have compared the Blazer to the less powerful CPS2100. Anyways, I like the Blazer stretched out shot time, but when It comes down to it, I would still prefer a CPS1000 because of its power. In any case, Blazer is a good weapon and diaphram tech has a lot of potential to make really excellent powerful soakers.

No. Its fairly equal in overal performance to the CPS2100. The power and soakage of the Blazer is a little less with 4X, but it has a greater distance and shot time. The CPS1500 has a 10X nozzle and has more force than a CPS2100. So its still better.looks o so good. I think ill look for one. Is it better than say a 1500 0r 1700?

They can't create larger diaphram chambers, that's why they have multiple ones.
Don't think diaphram is anything superior BlueSmudge, it's only a different kind of CPS. The shot times come completely from the nozzle size. I could make a gun with a 1 inch thick CPS chamber that shoots for 2 minutes straight with a really tiny nozzle.
To those who remember, when I said that shot time is very important with Leftovers, I meant it. Now some more people are finally seeing it, while the Blazer does not get close to the 2.5 minute shot time of Leftovers, it still is good. Maybe that's why they put small nozzles on it.
