Liquid latex?
I've been looking through older threads, and people seem to have mentioned liquid latex every now and then.
Did anyone ever make a pressure chamber with it?
And if they haven't, what sort of wall thickness would you need for a spherical PC?

Re: Liquid latex?
I don't know much about the mechanical properties of it. I suspect they might be inferior to balloons or LRT. If you can find some sold intended for mechanical purposes, that might be better than versions sold for kinky use.
And obviously you'd need some sort of former to start with - probably an inflated small balloon.
So I'm not sure you'd get much benefit compared to layered balloons, except perhaps ease of making.

I work on Windows. My toolbox is Linux.

Re: Liquid latex?
ease of making is the main benefit.
Another benefit is that i'm bored and it would be something to do
It would be easier to make more powerful - you could dip it back into the latex

Re: Liquid latex?
Kinky latex might not hold water. I would try the latex that they use to coat tool handles, and then layer that over a piece of LRT. See what happens, because it might be worthwhile.

I meant something like this:
http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p27583
ok that's not exactly what I wanted but that's the first good result I got on google shopping.
I can't get LRT easily here, which is why I'm leaning towards this.

Re: Liquid latex?
The reason I suggested lrt or a bike tube to start with is because the latex probably won't work as a PC on its own. You would need a good base, so that the latex will just increase the resistance.

Re: Liquid latex?
I have a bike tube PC but there's too much dead space inside it so the pressure drops off a lot at the end of the shot
If I wanted to make my bike tube PC more powerful, I could just add more bike tubes.
The only problem is that I can't find any more...

Go ask at your local bike shop, they probably have plenty that have one hole in them. That way you can just use the parts of the tube that don't have holes, and it will still work.

Re: Liquid latex?
the problem is that there is no bike shop near me.
I've just got to wait until my neighbor has some bike tubes left over from a job
