Wow. Look [at] the cash. FYI, total hoax. That image is of the Best Buy halo 2 preview disk. I have it. 100 MILLION $$$! Holy XPBackfire-esque.

Hey, that's funny., someone is now set for life, until he gets sued for false advertising, and the highest bidder gets sued for not paying the high bid (he probably doesn't have that much money). Yup, everyone's screwed. :P

That is Hilarious. The guy probably isn't going to pay. Although you never know.....he could be some super rich multi-billionaire's son just wasting his money.

Wow Elite. Nice spamming. You apologized for all the spamming and then just did it again. You could have put that comment in edit. BTW: you say you don't exactly know what spamming is......that right there is spamming.

Edit: A few touch-ups

I agree completely with you MilkMan. I'm just going to delete his comments that are spam now, and subtract 2 posts for each one! I don't even think he has changed at all from us repeatedly telling him to improve. At least BlueSmudge tried to improve. Speaking of him, why hasn't he been around? Did Hyper pull another read-only on him?

I didn't. Last R/O he got from me (the only one I can GIVE) was 12 hours. Check the warning sys on him. Unless I put in days instead of hours. But Im pretty shure it was hours.

Hey, I'm new here, just to let all of you know.....
Anyway, that site seems to be a hoax itself. That isn't a real E-Bay page I don't think, merely a site that copied the source from an E-Bay page and added some funny stuff. I've seen them before, and I am guessing this is one of them.

I noticed that. I thought that it might have been saved to their hard drive and edited a bit to put other pages on like the bid.

How to be stupid, in public

Yesterday, we got word from haloruler33 that a rather bizarre auction was going on over at eBay. Someone who'd registered on Thursday had started an auction for a Halo 2 pre-release playable game. There was a bit of discussion in our forum about this - many people warned the bidders that this was likely not real. By yesterday evening, things had gotten out of hand; the bidding, which had been creeping up by $50s and $100s all day, suddenly started jumping by thousands. At 11:38 pm (PST), the bid had reached $100,000. By 15 minutes after midnight, it peaked - at $99,999,999.00. And that's where it closed, at 7:15 this morning. It's quite possible this page will be yanked by eBay - there's fraud on all sides, more than enough to go around - so we've put up a static (no working links) local copy. The exception is the Bids link - that works, and points to another local page. Bungie's been alerted - but I'm really doubting this is anything but a scam, in any case.(Louis Wu 20:37:01 UTC)
The real auction should be able to be found here.... NM its already

The guy claims to work for "bungee" but he can't even spell bungie right.

Edit: If you look on the CD, it says RP-M rating. Obviously it is not the actual game. Oh, and if you try to click the links on it, they Don't work.

Bravo: It COULD have other promo materials from Halo1, rated M, on it.

Charlie: Its just the disk from Best Buy anyway.

it was stated as a PRE-RELEASE playable demo. most demos are rated "rating pending" because the game has not come out yet, so changes in blood and gore can be made, so there is no permanant rating. duh :P
