Ebay prices,

Post by solar00 » Sun Jun 24, 2007 10:00 pm

This is the first year i'm bidding on waterguns on Ebay, i'm only interested in the older CPS types (especially 2000,2500,3000,3200 and Monsters)

How are the prices of CPS guns compared to 2006 and 2005?
Is there any difference or are the prices the same every year?
And i guess the prices are lower during the winter(but also less items to bid on)

The prices get higher, obviously, with no end in sight for the reign of Hasbro. Seriously though, think about it. A water gun that went for $30 in stores is now getting prices of upwards of $200. That means people are getting desperate for power.

Prices are definitely lower from September to, say, February. Probably lowest near the end of that period.

According to DX, the CPS 3000 and 3200 are higher this year than usual, but the rest are generally lower.

Except for individual freak auctions, most guns are on a downward trend right now. I have been monitoring CPS heavy hitters very closely in recent months and have a good picture of what's going on. Backpack guns [3200 and 3000 especially] are out of control, but 2000s, 2500s, 1500s, etc. are totally flat. 2000s are closing well below $200, 2500s mostly below $70, 1500s under $50, etc. It's amazing for this time of the Summer. Monsters are holding up pretty well, with one MXL breaking $200.

Prices fluctatuate from year to year. Generally, the trend is up, though it really depends on the exact month. Early and late in the season, prices skyrocket. Anytime else, prices are either variable or predictably low.

They don't make them like they used to. Judging by the quality of Hasbro's yearly line-ups it's no wonder people are forking out crazy money..
