this idea came from a thread on nerfhaven http://nerfhaven.com/forums/index.php?s ... pixieblast) I was thinking about making my own pump, but using the same basic structure including having a hose lead from the pump to the air chamber. i've attatched a picture.
P.S. I know i'd have to turn it upside down

I don't really understand the layout...if I need to read that thread I'll have to do it later.
I doubt the pressure chamber will be big enough. Unlike air, water doesn't compress much - so you can't fit more of it into a small chamber. Other things like narrow bores, hose handle valves, etc. might also constrict flow.
