The Best Lubricant...

Post by lg388210 » Fri Jul 01, 2005 3:14 am

I've heard people say WD40, Motor Oil, Grease, and many more! But really...what's the best lubricant?

I know this doesn't really fit into "Super Soaker Modifications," but it would improve the performance of your soaker...

There simply is no best lubricant, just better ones for certain types of pumps. It would be better to use silicone on rubber based seals because other types of lubricants could degrade the rubber. On other sorts of seals, you could use other lubricants.

Dry lubricants are often overlooked. Baby powder can work well in areas that aren't going to be very wet. When it comes to the seals on pumps, however, my preference is a generic tub of Petroleum Jelly.
