Hello, I am a newbie in the Squrt-gun world. I need some in-depth help on the Backpack mod for my CPS 1500 other than the one in the "mods" section.

Thanks,
Racer

what are you having trouble with? if it's the "blue things" and the "beige things", don't worry about those. and doom, I've always been meaning to ask you this, what's your definition of a "hose attachment"?

You can pretty much ignore the times on that, I rarely ever have Xfire on when I play. I should, though.

if you're using 3/8" OD tubing, use a 3/8" drill bit to drill a hole in the center of the 2L bottle cap. if you're using 3/8" ID, try to match the drill bit with the outside diameter of the tube. you then stick the tubing through. I'd add epoxy just to be sure, remember to sand the top of the 2L cap and the outside of the tubing lightly with coarse sandpaper.

Yeah, I've been meaning to update that article, it's one of the oldest ones on SSC. I don't even remember what I meant for some of that stuff, I'll just redo it eventually. If you think that's bad read the one at the Super Soaker Silo.

What I've found works better than drilling a hole is poking a small hole through and then using one blade from your scissors to widen the hole. Do that until the tubing fits tightly into the hole. It won't leak, even under pressure if you do it right.

Uhh, don't bring up old topics. This wasn't that groundbreaking.

You don't use 2 liter bottle caps. I used a grape juice bottle cap and bottle. A 2 liter cap wouldn't work at all. It's not wide enough.

I tell people not to make that backpack mod for a reason. It requires metenaince and is outdated by today's better backpack mods. Wait for me to make on from PVC and then make on.

If you think about it, and have some knowledge about piping, it isnt that hard. Use PVC or ABS to make the backpack of volume you want, then have a "T" that goes to an adapter to like 3/8" followed by a barb and tubing. Is there any way to attach a backpack to a soaker unpermanently?
