Welcome To SSC! Be sure to read and understand the rules.
It all depends what kind of soaker you want. Go through the Reviews and pick one that suits you. I found the 1500 is a great starter wepon, problem is that you will have a very hard time finding one. -_-
large soaker suggestions: the 3A (Triple Agrressor) and Monster X.
Medium Soakers: The CPS 1500(if you can find one! and the CPS 2100.
Smaller Soakers: Cps 1200(If you can find one! , Water Warriors Blazer.
Backup: Max-D 2000, Vaporizer.
The Monster XL is wicked good, but extreamly heavy!

The Max-D 6000 is a good weapon, maybe better than you think. Good power in a compact unit. It's good for a main weapon if you're planning on staying mobile.
Of course, I would strongly recommend you get yourself a CPS weapon - that also includes the SC 500, SC 600 and the Monster series. CPS at the moment is much more powerful than air pressure: they take longer to pump than XPs and Max-Ds, but deliver a LOT more water.
It comes down to what your style is. Maybe the following list will help...
Light -> CPS 1000, CPS 1200, SC 600
Medium -> CPS 1500, CPS 1700
Heavy -> CPS 2000/2500, SC Power Pak/Big Trouble, Monster (X/XL), CPS 3000/3200
Bear in mind that these are only guidelines. Also remember that the largest gun is not always the best.
Choice of weapon is also dependant on whether you're going to be a loner or part of a squad. Which position will you occupy?
Hope that helps...

Well, you picked the wrong year to get into the Super soaker Line. CPS weapons are not sold anymore and the SoakerTag 3A is completely overpriced for their poor performance( The 3A has less force than a Max-D 6000). The Max-Ds are sub-standard to. They still sell a CPS 4100 as a re-issue at some places, but other than that, thats it. I recommend:Originally posted by uman@Apr 26 2004, 08:54 AM
Ok basically what I want to know is, I have a max-d 6000 I can use as a sidearm, but it's kinda lacking as a main weapon. What would be the best thing to buy (I'm willing to spend up to 40 bucks) thanks for the help
Water Warriors Blazer : $19.99
Water Warriors Lightning: $?
Total X-Stream Blast master 660: about $10
ebay= CPS2100, CPS1200, CPS1000
It is the best to go on ebay and get a CPS3200, CPS2500, MXL and MX. But since its 2004, retail stores won't have those. Here is more info of what 2004 has to offer in stores: 2004 Water Gun lines

The best place to buy blasters is ebay. If you want a 4100 you can get it off amazon for only $20
