Where to get a schrader valve?

Post by phoenix5 » Thu Oct 26, 2006 9:25 pm

I am currently building my first WBL. I'm just doing a simple douchenator style launcher, I got it all done except the pressurization point, because I can't seem to find a schrader valve, where would I pick up one of these?
Should I just rip up an old tire innertube, and if so, how do I attach the valve?
If not where do I get it and how is it attached?
(Note, I'm located in albany NY)

Since it sounds like your local Lowes- or The Home Depot-style department store if applicable doesn't have, try a bike store. Either that, or a vehicle maintenance shop. Places like that should have it.

I haven't used one before, but I do imagine that you could take apart an old innertube. If it doesn't have threads, then maybe epoxy or something in a drilled-out hole in PVC would work--not the best solution, but functional.

Welcome to the forums! Good to know you're interested in WBLs.

You can usually pick one up at almost any auto parts store....well, the core, at least. I don't know about the rest of the valve.
