Big water war in Quebec City!

Post by JLspacemarine » Wed Aug 05, 2009 3:44 pm

I think it is one of the first time something like this is organized where I live!
It was..... awesome! They even confirmed the same event next year! :)

The reason why it happened is because this year they cancelled the famous recreation of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham because of some nationalist controversy....so by frustration one local radio animator decided to recreate it anyway......with water guns!

Just take a look:

We can clearly see me in the video.... maybe you can guess who. ;)

I'll know what to look for. Unfortunately, as with C-A 99's water balloon launcher video, I'll have to watch it later...I think I can borrow my mom's laptop when she comes home.

Anyway, this does sound epic. Did one army have to scale the cliffs at night? :p

Unfortunately, just before the event I had some problems with my portable solar shower which was intended to be used as a reservoir for CPS C.A.R, so I was stuck with Plan B! :p Hint: Some people had brought their old SS guns but I believe no one out of the 600 people had the same as me. ;)

Actually, the volume was rather loud, so no difficulty listening. Very fast-paced and chaotic, though, and I had to pause several times during the second viewing.

Were you the guy with the CPS 2000 and a backpack, around 0:25 in? I can't recall you having done any backpack mods, though, so maybe not.

Anyway, the opening charge was awesome.

Holy crap, that looks awesome. I may be in Canada - Ottawa actually - by the end of the month or next month. I wish we did stuff like that down here.

Well, it's a 3L aquapack which has it's max infusion adapter removed, allowing backpack extension for any water gun. So, yeah, you guessed right. :p

During the war I saw a few CPS 2500's as well as some 1000's, 1500's and 1700's, even some original SS 50's! But no CPS 2000 like me! I also noticed the total lack of super soakers released from 1999 to 2004, except maybe one or two CPS 2100's. Besides cheap rip-offs it was mostly recent WW and SS models along with the CPS/XP line from 1995-1998.

BTW, can't wait for next year's battle.

That's very interesting, the 1999-2004 soakers were all pretty good. Count me in for next year if I'm not training on that day - I deploy next October. I didn't think about the nozzle removal thing, I am going to do that if I can't turn my camelbak into a decent backpack for my CPS 2000.

That looked pretty nice... How long did it go on for?

Too bad there's nothing like that where I live. :(

I plan on doing the CPS 2000 + Max Infusion thing if I get a 2000.
