cps 2500 repair question

Post by mdboyd81 » Tue Aug 16, 2011 12:15 am

Does anyone know how to remove the piece surrounding the clamp inside the PC? Its the piece with the orange tape for the pressure gauge. It seems like it would slide up but i cant get it to budge.

Welcome to SSC!

Why do you plan on doing this? If you plan to clossus, make sure you know how the gun works so that you can troubleshoot. Also, realize that this gun is worht quite a bit. The only good way yet devised is the amazingly complex methoud of hacking the damn thing off with a saw.

Actually the gun wasnt working when i got it, i had to fix that little piece in the nozzle, like shrike did. Ive also replaced the straws/laminators in the nozzle cut about a half inch off the nozzle end of the bladder, put it all back together, working good. But then i noticed that the trigger also has a crack in it. So ive completely disassembled the gun, and im thinking about cutting another half inch or so off the other end of the bladder.

You don't have to do that to fix a cracked trigger. Epoxy putty. Pliers to make room for it. Done deal in 10 minutes plus set time.

Wow, serious? cutting that first half inch off seemed to add a little power, so maybe i can get a little bit more by doing that.

That will reduce capacity, but may increase power. Interesting though. Remember, if you cut off more, it is more likely to break more.

Finally got it off, seems they put glue between that clamp and the cylinder that has the orange line on it on 2500's. It dont sound like there was any glue on Wayne Schmidt's Cps 2000. I cut about an inch off the other end, lets hope it dont break. It would appear that the bladder could expand much more, before i cut it, so we will see. Ill let you guys know how it works, thanks.
