How Strange The World Is

I feel like posting something from my world, so here goes.
When I was on that vacation, for a few days I stayed at a resort. It was then I realized how strange the world is, and how sick and twisted they are. As I was walking in, there were these 2 girls who'd act sorta like Vanna White at the doors, waving their arms and such. I thought "cute" and didn't think another thing of it until the second time I walked in later. They started doing this little erotic dance stuff, and I'm talking about like 4 year old girls, shaking their asses in the air. I personally don't find kiddie porn enjoyable so I just walked by.
What I'm saying is that the world is getting weirder by the day. I was disgusted, that isn't something I'd expect from some little girls. I mean, they thought they were in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition or Playboy or something. That's nasty for little girls. I'm also wondering where there parents were, I mean anyone could have snatched them.
Anything sick/weird like this happen to anyone?

Doom,
I try to dwell on the positive, but your right. I remember my dad saying that people didn't even bother to lock the doors to their homes many years ago. Kids grow up too fast these days. I was in the doctors office recently, and noticed one of the girls there was very pretty. Maybe 19 years old, and she had piercings, and tatoos all over her. I was thinking most decent guys would view her as damaged goods.

In reply to Superstormer: That may be, but the world has changed more in the last 10 years than it did the 10 before that, and so on. 10 years ago, the Internet didn't exist in the form it does now, nor did PCs, Internet porn, or many other things. I think kids have a much harder time growing up these days than in the past. You didn't see things like Columbine in the old days, and parents had time to raise their kids. Things are moving further and further away from personnal responsiblity. You see people suing Mc Donalds because their coffee was too hot, or they quit making decent Super Soakers because somebody got squirted in the eye.
Sorry for the rant

Kids attitudes are socially constructed. There were little tests where they dressed a baby boy like a girl and then like a boy, and the attitude towards the child changed. Baby had a blue outfit on and it was "What a strong boy", while the pink outfit resulted in "what a cute fragile girl". And it was the same kid in both experiments. My point is that the attitude toward females still differes from males starting from an early age on which differentiates the two genders by the girls starting to value themselves more in the eyes of others than males. That basis of measuring oneself according to outside views then influenced by the shift towards the "dirty girl" image which happens to be the trend at this time. Combine that with the decrease of marrige which results in a large wave of single parents, which leave the child un-supervised and partialy un-raised, you get what you just experienced.Originally posted by Doom@Aug 5 2004, 11:16 AM

Also the people who represent comercial images are geting younger. An article suggests that some models for beaty products are barely over 13-14. Kids mimic adults, and in todays age there is not much that will keep them from doing that.

I agree DA. I'm not really much of a psychologist and wasn't looking as to why they do that, I just think it's sick that they do. Thanks for the explanation though, and neat sig.
My dad once explained to me why she won that McDonalds coffee case. It was actually a pretty fair case if you ask me. McDonalds had been sued 5 or 6 times before over the heat of their coffee, that was the basis for her case. She actually had I think third-degree burns on her lap area from the coffee, and had to get plastic surgery to fix it. I think it's become more of a legend and got distorted. The people suing because they got fat IMO are more bullXPBackfire-esque than anything, fast food isn't addictive, in fact on my vacation I was sick of it when I was coming back home. 2 days straight of fast food was torture for me.

You Don't know half the story. Where I live its totally different. My friends dad is a cop at Fort Lee NJ, he takes the night shift, everyday his job is to go by the george washington bridge and get rid of the druggies. One time he was on the george washington bridge chasing a guy on angle dust. The guy took my friends dad and almost threw him over the railing into the hudson river.
Another time, this dumb butt went into our red cross building in town, took gasoline, threw it everywhere took a lawn chair, lit the place on fire, went accross the street, opened a pack of beer and sat and watched the building burn to the ground.
I'm going to think of more stories so ill post them here.

Unfortunately, I live in San Francisco, and seeing such things in schools is not unusual. Almost every teenager I know(and some adults) listen to rap and whatnot. What's also bad is that the rap they listen to talks only about men and their buddies picking up girls and having sex with them and so forth.
And sometimes I don't understand anything they say. I don't know what a "pimp" is, I don't know what "holla" means, and I don't know why guys would consider wearing jerseys and sag their pants(although it looks hilarious when they try to run like that).
Here's an example from a friend's web blog:
"went ta ct earie in da mornin foe dential ap...den went ta get sum food..went bak home took a showea cam bak out to allyz house chill dere foe a lito befoe going 2 work...."
I don't know what the Hasbro HQ she's talking about.

I just got back from baby sitting and there were cops everywhere. Turns out there were like 4 or 5 houses robbed and they were stopping all the cars to inspect them. And unfortunatly my sisters cars registration or whatever expired and we got a ticket. Just another day in northern New Jersey.

I don't know as many stories as Nibor, but simpler stuff. Northeast NJ does have its fair share of crime. I don't even walk my dog near the railroad tracks anymore because there is always a group of people smoking pot there. Well when you have 25,000 people in a 8x12 mile town, its not like you can prevent much from happening. In one of my old towns, you could leave your bike unlocked in front of a store and not bother locking the house doors. You still can now. There the incidents in the police blotter were all suspicious activity and crashes. In Ridgewood there is more DWI, drugs, and theft is high. My motto for the area is "No substance, all style." My old town in MA was "All substance, no style." I think that there should be more limits on what you can sue for, and that Ganksta, pop, and hip-hop styles should die. But that's just me, those are sweeping the country. I also agree with Spinner that the world's standards are falling fast, quality and substance are dying because of greed, money, etc.

Hey! I know those people at the tracks. We go to school with them, you should recognize them too. And I Don't think theyre smoking pot. I think they're just smoking ciggarettes.
I forgot to tell the story about my girl friend. Her mom has been married 3 times, and she has a boy friend now whom she wants to get married to. My girl friend has to put up with this guy everyday. He drinks large amounts of beer, he has hit her numerous times, and hes done gross stuff to her little sister which I won't post because then I'd get kicked off. It's hard knowing everyday that something bad might happen to her any minute and I might not be there to help her. Life sucks.
My brother in law is a DJ (kind of) and makes dance music. He was working for this guy called gang star and solar on their album. Tentions were high because the album was almost done but the record label was having issues and they got pissed at him and they beat him up. They stole stuff fom him and made death threats and all sorts of stuff. And they still call him now and then yelling at him. Life sucks.
More stories to come.

you think stuff like that is weird? try being part of the cs community. once, at a tournament (cxg if you're wondering), a member of a team who had just lost the match to be eliminated from the tournament pulled a sawed-off 12 gauge on one of the members of the winning team. it's just a dang game, and if I remember right they weren't even in the running for any money. (no one was hurt)
