WTS: CPS 2000 and CPS 1500

Post by Kid Flash » Mon Jan 24, 2011 4:48 am

Hello, I have just joined this forum to show some people some super soakers that i have up for sale. I have 2 soakers up on ebay, and as the title says, they are the CPS 2000 and the CPS 1500. I had no idea that these were worth money, and I was using them outside a ton. As I said in the auction, these worked last summer, so I see no reason as to why they wouldn't work now. Thanks for looking guys!

I'm on some nerf forums... That could be where. Other than that, I am dejaricojr on a bunch of other sites.

I sure do. I just tried to join the site in your signature, but it won't let me... I'll try again another time.

Sorry for the double post, but I was just able to test them. The 2000 works perfectly, but the 1500 does not. I have described the problem in the auction. Just a fair heads up to anyone thinking of bidding.

I just gagged. 99 cents for a CPS 2000? Best deal of the century.

If everyone snipes, they might as well just give you the base price and hide all bids from there on.

I, for one, ought to weigh in on this. The 2500 and 1500 are two of the most I've been wanting.

I just had someone offer to buy them now for 90 since it is the winter time. Honestly, I think I might be able to get more. eBay snipers suck. lol.

Well there's two ways to snipe. DIY or hire someone to. They actually have services designed to snatch bids at the very last possible moment, to the millisecond perhaps. The best counter to those is to bid big. Bid the absolute maximum that you can throw at the auction within the last minute or 30 seconds or so. For good measure it may also be worth bidding a lower amount a few minutes before going for the last bid.

It's quite a game to play, and I haven't done it all that much myself. Sometimes, you get lucky and the highest bidder does not use a sniping service, but nonetheless is at school/work while the auction goes.

Bidding late makes sense because if you bid early, you give other bidders information about how much you think the item is worth, which allows them to revise their own belief about how much it is worth, likely upwards. But really, there's little or no advantage to taking it to extremes like some people do. It may seem like the sniper swooped in and got it for only a pound more, but for all you know they might have been prepared to pay twice what you'd consider. Just bid as late as is practical, for the maximum you're prepared to pay.

I've used an eBay program, JBidWatcher, desktop software, open source although I didn't check the source. This was not so much to snipe, as for its multiple auction features, useful when there's several auctions for a near-identical product, and you only want to win one and get the cheapest possible price. I'd never give my eBay details to a website though, that's a great way to get robbed.
