While there might have been less water blasters on shelves overall this year, typically there aren't too many water blasters left on the shelves at this time of the year since most that were have now been sold. Yeah, there should still be some great soaking days before fall/winter arrives, but retailer purchasing patterns don't always quite match what consumers are hoping for.

Yep, the season for water gun sales is closer to the summer solstice than to anything else. However, I've noticed that Amazon and a few other places have some clearance sales on select water guns in the fall.

It still tends to be a seasonal thing. Manufacturers may build batches of water guns from spring to summer and turn to something else later on. When the stock is depleted, they're no longer resupplied. They won't produce water guns just for one state, and there may not be enough warehouse space to hold enough water guns throughout the year.

That's all speculation, of course. Send them an email if you want the official word.

In England it's impossible to get a water blaster in autumn, and difficult even in late summer. It is annoying. But I'm very surprised it's the same somewhere like California. Retailers do need hitting with a clue-by-four I reckon.
I work on Windows. My toolbox is Linux.

Here in the Netherlands it is not common anymore to see decent water guns for sale in toy shops. The only Super Soaker available here is the Bottle shot, and it is sold out almost everywhere. I haven't seen any other A-brands like Water Warriors.

Some shops have no water blasters at all, and others only have cheap chinese fakes, mostly CPS lookalikes without CPS technology. It's really sad...

I get my guns from Marktplaats.nl, a Dutch ebay-ish site.
Resistance is futile. You will be soakinated.
