Power washers are basically high pressure water pumps with valving and such that allow you to clean sidewalks and walls (you probably already knew that). Making one would just require that you have a high pressure water pump and something to drive it with, along with the accompanying supplies (pressure rated hose and trigger gun), so basically, you would most likely get a pressure washer instead of making one.

On a side note, using a pressure washer for a water gun fight might not be the best option...

They have sprays rather than streams, so your shot wouldn't get too far, and unless you found some ultra laminating device, the high pressure stream would probably break up (due to drag) instantly, because it's moving too fast.

Someone might also complain about the dangers of a high pressure water stream, so that would be a problem also.

To sum it all up, pressure washers aren't made for use as a water gun. They're made for "washing stuff with power" :p

Yeah, pressure washers propel water fast enough to cause severe injury. I've seen it and it's not pleasant. Never shoot a person with one.
I work on Windows. My toolbox is Linux.

i mean a small version for cleaning up rocks, golf club heads, grills, etc. it would also have a stream rather than a spray.

Your best bet would be to find some kind of high pressure pump and some kind of motor, but like I said before, the only reasonable way to get one would be to buy a pressure washer, since you'd find it pretty hard to make one.
