I just posted this on AQT, and now ill post it here...
This is more of a concept than a mod. I remember waaay back on the ezboard that some kid wanted to put the PC of a 2000 in a MX. The 2 main problems are that most likely, the PC's wouldnt fit correctly, and that the MX's check valve could not withstand the pressure. My idea is to put the PC of a 2000 in a 2500. Its true that the 2500 does have a weak check valve, but freezing it is not a big deal. Also, the 2000/2500 are almost identical internally wise, so the chances of the PC's being about the same size is great. If only I had a 2000 to test this on...Just think, power of a 2000, and the nozzles of a 2500. Thats what I call a good gun.

Maybe someone with both guns can pull this off. But if I had a CPS 2000 and a CPS 2500, I would just swap the nozzle selector.

that wouldnt work, because if you have ever seen the nozzle assembaly of a 2000, youd notice there is no way to do this. The 2000's nozzle is part of the internals. It couldnt be taken off....

since my 2500's check valve is already frozen, if m4 sends over his 2000 for me to repair, ill conduct this. The only prob is that my 2500 has no nozzle selector. When I got it off ebay, the view was shot from the back of the gun, so I couldnt see it well. that is only one of the broken soakers off ebay. I also bought a 1200 with a broken pump, and they didn't even say it was broken. I fixed it fortnatly....

Yeah, the 20X is bad. Is that because it does not fit perfectly?

no the 20x being bad has nothig to do with fit... everything fit well... but what it has to do with is what I call the "barrel"... this is the part of the nozzle setup thats after the valve... but before the actual nozzle that the water comes outa...
in the 2000s barrel there is basictaly one big "straw" in the center. it is surrounded by 8 smaller straws... this keeps the water flowing in the right direction and here it does it well. in the 2500s barrel instead of one big straw... it has 2 smaller one ammed in the same space. this offsets the flow of water just a lil. in the smaller nozzles it is not noticable because they can't let that much water out at once... but on the 20x nozzle it is noticed... it ends up making a rather dispersed blast that dosent travel well... I'm writeing up an article on this and it will be on my site when im done =D
I'll let ya all knwo then =D

you Don't have to, because I already fixed it. I got a piece of 1/2 inch PVC pipe, and glued it on. Now it still shoots 30 ft, but has a nice BIG blast

There is not as much risk involved what so ever...The 2500 is the 2000, only with a slightly weaker bladder and it has 3 nozzles, the internals are the same, as they are approximatly the same lenth
