I found a couple of CPS 2100 left at my Toys R Us store. Should I get one? I heard CPS are rare now. The problem is they're Hasbro HQ expensive. $50.00 (AUD).

The 2100 is a great gun. Modding it is easy and you can get quite a good punch out of it if you k mod it. But I don't know if I would pay that much for one. Maybe you can wait until the price goes down a bit. It depends on how badly you want it.

Well I don't really want it THAT bad, but I want to have a CPS before they become extinct. They still make and manufacture other CPS right? This isn't the only one is it?

They don't make any more cps class soakers, but there is word that cps might come back. The only close thing to cps right now is diaphram technology, what the water warrior line uses. It is basically cps tech but as you fill the bladder with water, it compresses the air around it in it's casing.

No, you fill the bladder and it works exactly like all rubber CPS systems, with the exception that the whole thing is held together by this plastic case. No matter what anyone will tell you, please remember that diaphram is an inferior technology. Regular CPS is much better.

Answer: At this point, money is no object for a CPS. If you can't find one for cheaper, buy it.

Question: Does this really go in the trading forum?

But put yourself in my shoes. 17 year old kid, student, no job, not much money to spend around. $50 is a lot of money. Is it worth it?

You could make a much better homemade for that money. Or you could even buy a gun from eBay. I wouldn't get it personally. I bought my CPS 2100 for less than $10. B)

I don't know what kind of reasoning that is. Assuming that you actually have a budget, take the time to search for something cheaper. $50 is a rip-off for almost any water gun, nevermind a CPS 2100. CPS water guns have become grossly overvalued and their prices are way too inflated. Example: All but one of my soakers have been purchased cheaper than normal market value:

3 CPS 2100's for only $10 each [normal value: $10-30]
2 CPS 2100's for only a mere $7 each [normal value: $10-30]
1 CPS 3200 for only $20 [normal value: $50-90]
1 CPS 2500 for only $31 [normal value: $50-100]
1 CPS 4100 for $40 [My first CPS; I didn't know any better back then, I was new]

Don't get ripped off, look for a 2100 under market value. It may take awhile, but it's well worth the savings when you finally do find one for less.

Err... I'm only 15, and 50 bucks (especially if I were in Europe or Australia) does not seem like too much for a good gun.

But... I'm a collector, so I think my priorities are somewhat different.

To be honest $50 is a lot of money for a CPS 2100. But then again its not up to me. I found my CPS 2100 at the Gadget Shop for £15. Which is ok consdering that it was in the UK where Super Soakers seem to be a lot more money here.

I know you're new, but please try not to drag up old topics - he's almost certainly decided by now whether to buy the gun or not.

I agree, guns in the UK do seem overpriced; £15 is a pretty good deal for a new CPS 2100.
