CPS 1500 In Need of Repairs

Post by Necrobio » Thu Sep 16, 2010 4:54 am

Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to be here. I was more of a Nerf kid back in the day, but seeing as how I've got a perfectly good soaker here, it just seems right to get it working again.

So, I recently came into possession of a very old CPS 1500. Didn't pay a dime for it, which is good, because it's in need of an overhaul.

There's no pump, to start, and the reservoir is punctured. The entire thing feels shaky, and I'm pretty sure it's going to need reinforcement. I haven't opened it up yet, so I have no idea what the insides look like, but it sounds alright.

So, does anyone have any advice or resources to point me to, for fixing it up? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you, good day!

That sounds pretty bad to me. It shouldn't be too hard to patch the hole, but you're going to need to build a pump (unless you can find one), which I think would be hard for a beginner. And you'll need to figure out how to reenforce it and make sure nothing else is broken. It might be easier to take out the bladder and build a homemade, or maybe sell it to someone here.

Thank you both, for the timely response.

I'm opening the 1500 tonight, so we'll see how the innards are then. The holes are relatively small, so yes, patching them shouldn't be a problem. Making the patch less noticeable, however... Anyway, building a pump might be harder, but I'll look into that later.

If anyone here is interested in such a busted up CPS, I'd be willing to sell it. Know any takers?

Doesn't really matter whether or not the patch is visible, but if the CPS bladder is busted, you can build a replacement out of balloons. Or you could ask one of the other members if they would be willing to build one for you.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Quack damn you.
