Does anybody know anything about this gun? Is it rare? How much is it worth? I couldn't even find a hit on google for it.

Edit: Does anybody know if Storm 500's can be modified to shoot darts?

We have a page, but there's not much to see. I have seen these in stores though.

It looks the same as the Monsoon Force 4, just a different color. Does anyone know when the monsoon force 4 was released? Is the monsoon force 4 it's predecessor, or did the MF4 come after the Storm 2000? Also, the page link didn't give any info on the Nerf conversion of the S500, basically, does the S500 pressurize without water?

Yes the Storm 500 pressurizes without water. But I can't see any reason to use it for shooting darts. First off, the valve is tiny so you can't get much flow out of it. Second, the water chamber is much too large for darts and the pump is short so you're going to have to pump many times to pressurize. It'll end up being terribly inefficient, but it'll work. I'd suggest modifying a Nerf gun if you want to shoot some sort of darts (though I assume by darts you mean Nerf darts).

Actually, he only mentioned "Nerf", not "darts." ;)

Nerf conversions result in powerful "snipers," but as Ben said, they're not too efficient. You could just tap the trigger long enough to shoot, thereby saving some air, but that's a little too inconsistent.

I've yet to come across any water gun that WON'T pressure and shoot air.
I work on Windows. My toolbox is Linux.
Arsenal:
Super Soaker: XP215, 2xXP220, Liquidator, Aquashock Secret Strike M(odded), Arctic Blast M, CPS1200, CPS2100, SC Power Pak, 3l aquapack, 1.5l aquapack

Right, but water guns' pressure chambers are too big for Nerfing. You'll pump a lot and then lose most of the pressure in a single shot.

I've pumped this gun up, and the air leaks out somewhere, causing nothing to happen when the trigger is pulled. I put my finger over the hole on the main valve thing (where the qfd goes) and pumped, the gun still did nothing when I pulled the trigger, but when I took my finger off, I could hear air come out that seemed to be the same amount no matter how many times I pumped it. I don't think it's broken, it's NIB, but I don't want to put water in to test it, because it's NIB.

In my experience, storm guns haven't held air very well, but seem to hold water fine when you pump them. Water tight but not airtight? -shrug- Storm guns aren't well known, and therefore nobody really wants to pay much for them. Some of them were pretty nice though. You can always open it up and test it this summer =)

Last time I was battling I was against someone experienced using a Storm - not sure which, smaller than the one in the picture here. I was rather startled at how far it shot; nothing I had (liquidator, secret strike, sting ray, shark) could compete. Got killed several times because of that.
