Welcome to SSCentral! There are some good water gun reviews at iSoaker.com.

Out of the soakers available in stores this year, the Super Soaker Flash Flood is fairly good. The Buzz Bee PreChargers and Blazer are just as good.

Welcome to Super Soaker Central.

This thread should provide a little information on what's considered the best: http://forums.sscentral.org/t1343/

For what's available right now, your best bet would be the Super Soaker Flash Flood or the Water Warriors Blazer. If the new, as of yet unseen, Hydroblitz by Super Soaker is any good, you might want to check that out as well.

The CPS water guns are good, in fact, they're considered the best there are. Sadly, no CPS series water guns are manufactured any longer. However, the Flash Flood and Blazer both use the same technology.

If you're going to be realistic, the flash flood is the best you'll get nowadays. However, if you're going to be unrealistic, you can buy CPS soakers for lots of money on eBay. CPS/Monster line Super Soakers are the most powerful and have the best performance.

Generally though, Larami/Hasbro (Super Soakers) brand water guns are the only good quality soakers there are.

Note that this is the off-season for soaking though, although we are approaching spring and the (hopefully) inevitable soaker craze. So prices on eBay are fairly low, so some cheap, good deals might be available. Not for too long, though...
