For the Backpack mod couldn't you just have a large hard jug of water with tubing at the bottom that goes to our soaker? It seems tat as long as gravit is on your side, that would do.

Yes you could. However it's way too large to carry around as you'll likely use those 2.5 gallon things. My backpack mod needs a little redoing btw, don't make it, people say the article is hard to understand, it's one of the oldest articles on SSC.

Yeah, thats why I was asking, I couldn't make it. I'll try to find some other large container. Or like 4" PVC

4" PVC is like 1000 times more expensive than 3", I would buy 3" because it's cheaper and make a few chambers if it's going to be made out of PVC.

That's what I meant, 4" is probably to big. I mean its huge. I'm going to use 3" for the reservoir on my first homemade. I had almost finished a previous homemade that failed. This new one actually looks good too! I'm having a down extending tanks that looks like a clip.
