Is the Vindicator k-moddable

Post by Chernobyl » Thu Apr 29, 2010 1:00 am

I was planning to get a vindicator and k-mod it. is it possible? are there more risks than benefits?

No one has tried it, and only one person has even taken the bladder out of the gun, so it is unknown if it will work, but it's possible. The risk is that it won't work, but if it does, then everyone will know it's K-Modable, plus your Vindicator will be more powerful.

I can try to get a better picture, that one was taken with my webcam. Hopefully this helps.

I should also add that there is virtually no way to get the bladder out without destroying the gun. The plastic retainer ring that holds it in place had snapped. That is why I opened it in the first place. I thought that hose clamps would work, but I do not have the right size. THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO WAY TO GET THE BLADDER BACK IN.

The design of the blaster, with the bladder inside the reservoir, is what will create the challenge. You could cut into the reservoir, but you would then need to seal it up again.

The bladder shape is kind of intermediate between spherical and cylindrical. Regular balloons are unlikely to be a good shape. Modelling balloons, however, should fit well.

There must be a way to refit the bladder. After all, Buzz Bee fit them!

Could you post (or point us to) pictures of the rest of the internals - in particular, where the bladder attaches to the blaster.
I work on Windows. My toolbox is Linux.

The getting into the reservoir is not a problem. the piece that the bladder is held in with unscrews easily. in order to put it back, you would need something like an allen wrench, but with a screwdriver.

On my Vanquisher, I couldn't get to it because of glue.

you couldn't see the bladder, or you couldn't get it off?

Both. There was some sort of clamp in the way that was screwed and glued.

That orange thing next to the reservoir/PC is in the way.

That just screwed off for me (on the vindicator). I have yet to go that deeply into the internals of the Vanquisher.
