So the first major winter storm is a comin. Can't wait. Blizzard warnings in NYC and 12-15 inches of snow expected, its going to be a good weekend. Dux and I are thinking about getting a bunch of friends together for a blizzard party. Oh the joy! B)

Do you live in Massachusetts? If so, you live in the same state as me!Originally posted by Godzillasoaker65@Jan 21 2005, 07:10 PM
In massachusetts 12-18 inches expected tomorrow afternoon! :Hey, that's funny.:
We haven't gotten deep snow for awhile, so snow is very welcome.
I don't check this forum anymore.

As you Americans expect, us Canadians generally have deep snow all winter long. However, it actually melts around in March. No, I do not live in an igloo or a log cabin, but I'm sure the people who do are very nice people. I'm not sure about the snow in my neck of the woods, but I'm sure we're going to get some soon...

They have increased the projected snow amounts to 16-24 inches in New Jersey! Right now we are under Blizzard Warning and the heavy snow is only about half an hour away. I haven't seen a blizzard in my hometown in 7 years [last was the Blizzard of 97 when I lived in MA] and so I'm hoping that this will be the one! :Hey, that's funny.:

This is the first Blizzard warning in almost 9 years for us! It could go down in the record books as bigger than 96 which was one bad butt storm. We're expecting white out conditions, blowing a drifting snow, and 16-24 inches in less than a 20 hour period. All storms have their down side, and this time it's the fact that it's on the weekend. Oh well...

Wow, I got a pretty nasty storm yesterday. Here in Canada it's considered a normal thing, where most of you guys live it would be considered a blizzard. I was warm outside with a t-shirt, long sleeved sweater, hoodie, thick winter coat, thermal gloves, p-js under jeans with snow pants over top, normal socks with thick wool socks over top, winter boots, a neck warmer thingy (I pull it up over my nose because it's so long) a toque and ski goggles. I looked like a friggin' british SAS troop or SEAL, it looked crazy. With all that stuff on I could probably be out in a REAL blizzard for two hours without freezing!
That's what I wore outside during the "blizzard"!

When the wind reversed direction early this morning, the snow never made it back into Ridgewood. We got only 10 inches. I would have given anything to live in Chatham, MA, where they had hurricane force winds and 3 feet of snow last night. My old Massachusetts town probably got more than 2 feet. So if you live in MA, never move out of that state or else you'll end up like me, still waiting 7 winters in a row without a real blizzard. And it might be 8 winters in a row if by April there's been no luck.

I got a snow day a week ago from today. I think we got about 16" the night before that. Haven't had much snow since, I just hope it doesn't melt. I like snow
Oh and I'd like to point out that Monsoon felt like SAS or SEAL, note that Canada doesn't have special forces.
I win.
Oh and Michigan is only a little better than Canada. We get lake effect snow, trust me, not pretty.

Yep. Lots of LE snow up here. Up to my kinda-short waist. Whenever I go outside, the snow gets an unexpected yellow rainshower.Originally posted by Neo@Jan 26 2005, 03:25 PM
