They "bowl" not "pitch". They hit the ball with the bat. They run between the "stumps" to get runs or they hit a boundary (a 4 or a 6). They get out by not being in a "crease" when the ball hits the "wickets" or by the ball being "bowled" through the "stumps". The crease thing is kind of like baseball and bases.
Cricket is my #1 sport, both for watching and playing. In fact, just broke off during this post to see Hayden get caught behind by Johnson (wow! wicket for the USA! yay! )

Highest score is 47, out off the last ball of the innings . I was batting with a young lad who made 96 n.o - how frustating is that for both of us? <_<

I bowl quickish leg-spin, sort of that New Zealander's style - is it Chris Harris I'm thinking of? However, that doesn't mean I'm anywhere near his standard. :Hey, that's funny.: What about your cricketing experience?

I also play tennis.
