Tactical Idea

Post by lollerdude98 » Tue Jun 22, 2010 7:10 pm

I'm not sure if this was already come up with, but when you are rushing someone, take a few tap shots on an arc as a distraction, and then while they are worried about dodging those shots, hit them straight on.

Tap shots are useful for a wide variety of uses. While short sustained shots (i.e. 1/2 to one second) are much more reliable when you want to eliminate a target, tap shots can keep the enemy on their toes and give you breathing room if the enemy is charging too quickly.

A smart enemy will not just worry about dodging tap shots. Eventually, one of those shots could hit them. Instead, they will use cover or simply retreat, though firing back is also possible. (If this is the case, you must beware of the wind; if it's going against your direction, then the enemy will have more range than you.) Also, most people can still shoot while dodging.

This isn't so much of a tactic as it is a part of a tactic. It's just one of the many uses for tap shots, but in this particular case, it's unlikely to be useful unless the enemy does not know what they're doing at all.
