Default Music

Hi everyone!

I've decided to make a music thread to see what kind of music people like (there was a thread ages ago asking about people's favourite genre, but it's not as specific as I'd like, and I didn't want to necropost)

So what kind of music do you listen to at the moment?

I listen to a mix of a few recommendations from my friend Tim:
The Flaming Lips, Weezer, Public Enemy, Holy Fuck and Aphex Twin

Personally, I absolutely hate modern music. It's all to loud, and too fake. I prefer music where all the instruments are not plugged in. I especially like instruments such as non-bowed strings (guitar, as well as piano), reed instruments, and brass instruments. I play an Alto Saxophone in the school Jazz Band, and that is the highlight of my day. Real music with real instruments, and not the modern crap that takes no thought.

I realize that everybody else who posted in this thread will probably think I have bad taste in music, but I think the same of you.

Well these certainly take much more thought than the average singer with acoustic guitar strumming 3-chord songs:

Can't judge music simply by its instruments. Maybe you can judge by the lack of them though, as the work that goes to virtually all modern mainstream/pop stuff is 99.99% sound engineering and .01% "art".
