foam core pvc

Post by mysterio » Sun Jul 18, 2010 11:56 pm

hey, will &Ntt=4&URL=TopCategoriesDisplayView&langId=-1&langId=-1&storeId=10151&storeId=10151]foam core pvc work as a piston pressure chamber? i.e. not explode, crack, or fail?

EDIT: nvm. stupid question.

To clarify: No, that's waste pipe, not for use for parts under pressure. You could use it as a reservoir or, with care and perhaps a pressure release valve, as the casing for a CPS chamber.
I work on Windows. My toolbox is Linux.

It should be rigid, I mean waste pipes usually are. You probably wouldn't want to hit it heavily though.

ok. but is it lighter than regular pvc?
EDIT: i.e. light enough to justify the less sturdyness

Foam-core PVC pipe is fine for non-pressurized components. It probably is more sturdy than the plastic used in the current Super Soakers.
