Interesting German water gun

Post by SSCBen » Thu Jun 12, 2008 3:48 pm

This is the first German website about building water guns that I've seen: http://www.holgerweihe.net/soaker/soaker.htm

It's definitely primitive, but interesting nonetheless. I'm going to translate the page and see if it says anything interesting.

Interesting. I wouldn't necessarily call it primitive, as there's something compelling about all the clear vinyl tubing and the bottle. I guess that's what happens when you hack on your own. And it's similar to your 2-liter homemade.

Primitive wasn't the right word. Basic would be better.

Here's another modification/homemade in German that I found in our referrer logs. This person seems to have modified a SC 400 to use a hand pump and potentially CO2. Scroll down a bit and you'll find it.

Extremely rough English translation:
But this is silly, because you will then verschießt bubble, is ultimately just a club soda since it was built
Ich weiß wovon ich rede, ich hatte da für nen abischerz was gebaut I know what I'm talking about, because I had to be built what abischerz

zu sehen: to see:
-eine über einen gartenschlauch schnellladefähige Super soaker (typbezeichnung war mal auf dem tank der nichtmehr dran ist) - a gartenschlauch schnellladefähige a super soaker (typbezeichnung was once on the tank off the nolonger)

-2*1,5L Fantaflasche als Wassertank, mit schnellladevorrichtung in ~5sek voll -2 * 1.5 L Fantaflasche as a water tank, with schnellladevorrichtung ~ fully 5sek

-das orginale überdruckventil, damit niemand verletzt wird - The original überdruckventil so no one gets hurt

- ein orginal AC Schnelltrennverbinder -- An original AC quick release connectors

-eine CO2 Kartuschenpumpe, die aber am ende durch eine normale Fahrradpumpe ersetzt wurde weil die Patrone einem an der hand festfriert, der pumpenmtaufsatz nicht vernünftig druckregelbar war und die co2 kartuschen teuer -und mineralwasser verschießt man auch noch - a CO2 cartridge pump, but at the end of a normal bicycle pump was replaced because a cartridge at the hand festfriert, pumpenmtaufsatz was not reasonable druckregelbar and co2 kartuschen expensive and mineralwasser verschießt you even

nicht zu sehen ist: es wurden in der endversion noch 2 0,5L colaflaschen in den grünen schlauch eingebunden, als luftdruckspeicher, zum zwecke des selteneren pumpens not to see: it was in the endversion still 2 0.5 L colaflaschen in the green tube involved, as luftdruckspeicher, for purposes of the rarer pumpens

falls es wer nachbauen will, die verschlauchung einer zwischenversion ist hier zu sehen: http://dominicroemer.de/wasserpistole2.jpg if it will be copied, the verschlauchung a zwischenversion is here to see: http://dominicroemer.de/wasserpistole2.jpg

(construction, the spray bottles are the "upside down" in the rucksack. that you fill in the rucksack so that they correctly rum, then fill the first bottle with the yellow lid completely, then the 2nd bottle, the air over the escapes green hose and the überdruckventil so that water is really 3L. This is but only if a cartridge has constantly maintained the pressure gets 2 luftdruckfläschchen or you, otherwise you have to at the beginning every few seconds pump.
Will man auf die zusatzflaschen und die kartuschen verzichten lässt man die flaschen einfach mit dem Deckel nach unten, dann bleibt ein luftpolster in den Flaschen. Will you go to the zusatzflaschen and kartuschen renounce the bottles can be easy with the lid down, what remains is luftpolster in the bottles. )

ok, evtl etwas overkill OK, something hire Kill

Wow... I mean, really wow.

Its basically a combined chamber gun right? a 1.5L bottle and a bike pump, with a release tuve held in place by a aluminium rod.

But all the clear piping does make it seem pretty cool. Shame its not exactly up to performance... ;)
(The shooting he does is a weak scattered squirt. damn)

You can easily use CO2 for filling a resevoir with a schrader valve, CO2 tyre inflators This site in the uk sells CO2 to schrader adapters, and I'd be very suprised if they weren't available in the US.

The problem with CO2 is that it makes the plastic more brittle. For safety reasons I think HPA or something with a more reasonable temperature.

*Wonders how much of an effect the CO2 would have on Copper*

Copper works fine when cold. Use as much CO2 as you want. ;)
