When I opened up my CPS 1700 I took off the nozzle piece since I had to to get in it. After screwing it back together again since I have a war this afternoon I decided to try shoot it with the cap off. It shot about 5 or 6 feet farther on 5X. On 10X I didn't record lengths but I knew it also went farther.

Why is this? (not that I'm complaining)

And if I were to leave the cap off, would it damage or hurt anything?

the cap is there for a reason, I'd say leave it on. it's to protect the internals of the soaker from damage from dirt and other debris.

You can pretty much ignore the times on that, I rarely ever have Xfire on when I play. I should, though.

Ah I see. I'm just curious what about the guy on Vermin war 8? He had a CPS 1700 and his nozzle was off.

actually if you leave the selector and everything off you can get a stream similar to a cps 2000, albeit with not as much range. don't do that though, I'm pretty sure it directly exposes the trigger valve. and I just realized I have over 1000 posts!

Nono the nozzle selector is on.

If its like this is their harm? Also why is it shooting farther?

Its shooting further probably because it has less length to go which means less turbulance. I think turbulance of the stream directly effects stream lamination. with better cohesion, the stream can go a little farther.

P.S. Correct me if I'm wrong, Im not possitive on this.
