Super Soaker Central

Hi, I have a pretty powerful gun called a 'constant pressure 2000'. Could anyone help me figure out what it is?

Welcome to SSC! By the sound of it, you have the CPS 2000 Mk2, and a very awesome weapon.

Edit: The Mk1 had "Air pressure soaker" on the sticker, and Mk2 had "Constant pressure," at least from what Isoaker and the reviews here say.

You don't know if it's a MK II or MK I because he didn't post any pictures.

Basically, it's the most powerful stock water blaster ever put on toy shelves. They're long gone and cost a lot of money to get, and can only be found from friends, craigslist, garage sales, ebay, etc.

Well, I can, but I find it quite funny.

Fred, not everybody likes water guns as much as we do, so it is understandable.

When I started, I had absolutely no idea that there was a CPS series, only that I had owned a powerful water gun at one point.

If you can find "Air pressure soaker" on my CPS2000 Mk 1 pictures, please let me know. While there appear to have been some tagged incorrectly as "Air pressure", this was not always the case.

I've only seen Mk1's with Air pressure on the sticker, so my thoughts are probably wrong. How about you post a picture, and then we can decide.

The only misuse of "air pressure" for CPS's I've seen is on the 2100's box from a picture, though it's definitely possible that they could've messed that up more than once.

Perhaps this indicates that there are in a sense THREE marks of CPS 2000? With the earliest - Mk Ia - having "air pressure", then Mk Ib having "constant pressure" and Mk II having the shortened pressure chamber.

This might explain the fact that I believe there have been conflicting reports as to whether Mk I or Mk II shoots further - if in fact there are two variants of the Mk I with ranges either side of the Mk I.

You probably know more about it than me, so - plausible?

I posted a link to all my CPS 2000 MK1 pictures in my previous post.

As for splitting apart Mks based on a sticker label, I would disagree with that idea unless it was also proven that there is a notable structural and/or performance difference. The current Mk1 and Mk2 definitely differ on the size of the PC (though, admittedly, I never really liked the whole Mk system in the first place).
