Power Pak leakage!

Post by aphemushroom » Mon Aug 22, 2005 7:25 am

How do I stop my Power Pak from leaking? It leaks from just behind the nozzle. I've already tried epoxy, but it still leaks a bit. Anyone know a good way of sealing the leak permanently?

When you say it leaks behind the nozzle, do you mean out of the nozzle selector or out of the casing? If it is out of the nozzle selector, you probably need to tighten the screw or get a better o-ring. If it is leaking out of the casing it is probably best to open it up and fix the leak at the source.

Please refer to the Super Soaker Repairs template for what type of information to give us. I can't honestly tell you what the problem was from your short description.

It's a crack just above the nozzle. The bad thing is that the crack covers a place where the water is pressurised when being used, so instead the water comes out there.

You should try sanding and epoxying the spot (from both the outside and inside if possible). How bad is the leak? If it's large, I'm afraid that you might not be able to repair this. You can buy a new Power Pak gun part from Hasbro (check their customer support section, I don't have the link off-hand).

That's another default setting. When I find it, I'll change it back to 50, what we agreed to before.

Epoxy didnt work because of the BIG crack. Anyways, it says that there are limited quantities on the order form. You can still get the replacement part right?

I think it says they can limit quantities, meaning you cant buy like 10,0000 of them. Arggggg...we need to get rid of this 100 character rule soon.

Edit: Don't say that 100 chararcter rule stuff. Instead, write a bit more like I do. I'm still trying to find the setting, so deal with it for the moment. I've already checked the Usergroup manager because I haven't run into this yet, but that was no luck.

Uggg. Who would buy 10000 of them? They probably dont even have more than 15000 or so in stock. Well, I think I passed the 100 Character rule.

Used to have a Power Pak that had the same problem, shame I was an idiot and threw it out. Post some pics, and get that description the best you can in my repairs template, I will see what I can do to help you.

I think the main problem with the Power Pak/Big Trouble for repairs and mods is the general structure of it - it's a bit different than conventional soakers ;)
"I used to care, but now I take a pill for that."

You can pretty much ignore the times on that, I rarely ever have Xfire on when I play. I should, though.

I'm back. :) I have a Power Pak and it leaks from the qfd thing. It has always had the crack (saw it when I pulled it out of it's box) and I intend on using some Gorilla glue on it as soon as I get more of it. The Power Pak is an awesome gun, treat it with care.

The Power Pak, has many problems when its taken out of its box. I have had to take mine back several times and finally get one that is fine, now I have one that is. What happened with the ones I got were that the tube that goes out of the backpack had been folded over in storage so much it just couldn't take anymore so the piping split. This happened an a lot of the Power Paks I had to take back. It has a lot of problems. I am glad mine is fine. Just a word of warning when getting one.

Ditto that. Mine is folded over too. :( It is really annoying because once I put a clamp on the tubing making it round and the performance got better because the water flowed better.
