Sn'w'nd

Post by isoaker_com » Sun Dec 20, 2009 2:28 pm

Anyone else getting p0wn'd by sn'W?

Lots coming down here and more still on the way... unless it gets suddenly warm here, it'll definitely be a White X-mas for me.

I already had a lot; 20 inches in VA! The whole north-east is gonna be snowed in!

It already stopped though.

We had about 2 feet here in Maryland. It was kinda good and bad: Good in the sense that they canceled my last final, but bad in the sense that everyone is stuck at home without much to do.

That's about 100 *F, and that's hot regardless of the units. Don't worry about having to convert from metric to imperial units; I'm sure most people on this forum could tell that about 22 C is room temperature and that about 100 m is the length of a football (American football) field.

Units, as in measurement system. Regardless of if the number is in Celsius or in Fahrenheit, it's hot.

Well, ya for the most part. After a while, it gets a little anoying. Especcially if you're shoviling (spelling-yeesh!) it. 20 inches is a lot in VA. The last time we had like this much was about a decade ago....Do you get snow where you live?

It was 19 inches here in New London, which is uncommon on the coast. It's easier to "shovel" when the college does it for you :p

That stinks, Bradisfun. VA usually doesn't usually get much (any?) snow every year, but every 5 or so years we get a big storm like this one.

We've had a few inches in the UK. Maybe a foot tops in a few places.
Thing is, a few inches causes total chaos. The roads are snarled up, flights cancelled, often the trains disrupted. This country just doesn't know how to deal with snow. It's a bit pathetic really. Sure, it's not common, but it's not THAT rare, we'll often have one or two falls like this in a winter.

Where I live, we only got around a measley two(maybe four) inches. Funny thing is, it kept us from two days of school. :p
