My neighbor has a Max-D 6000 that he got a couple of years ago. He brought it outside to play with and found that the pump doesn't work. It doesn't pressurise the gun. Is this fixable?

edit- yes I believe it is fixable, being air pressure.

Sounds like the seel on the inside is doesn't work anymore. It's quite fixable. Get some electrical tape and rap it around the pump where the seel used to be until it makes its own seel.

What do you mean by the "seel"?

Just guessing, but I think Nibordude meant seal ;)

He means seal. :P (edit: posted at the same time as hotshotwithcps4100)

The problem actually could be one of a dozen things. To help determine which one, answer these questions:

1. Is any water being pumped? Pump with the nozzle open to determine this.

2. Is the pump sealing? The check valves should make some noises or obviously be opening.

3. What is this water gun's history? Did it stop working after an accident?

Those three questions should help figure out what the problem actually is. ;)

I'm not very knowledgable on these types of topics, but if you used electrical tape to seal the pump, wouldn't that make lots of friction? Electrical tape is not very smooth on the outside, and that make it a lot harder to pump, am I right?

Maybe these pictures will help. I know this sounds inexperienced, but what exactly is the seel? (edit by admin: It is spelled "seal", not "seel")
