tips and all that.
here are some tips
1, having a gun that shoots further than the other, is a great advantage.
2, instead of constant doging, duck around corners.
3, show no fear, espeicialy if the other guy has a better super soaker.
4, seem fearles, espeicialy if the other guy has a better super soaker, this gives you the ability to decrease there moral, meaning your hits will be much more efective.
5, should there be no limits on how much you get soaked, charge sprayin every thing u got! it works best with guns that have "pull the pump out comes the watter," this normaly freaks people out.
6, if your fighting your dad, get some buddies.
any more tips? please post em.

Unfortunately, the tips here only apply to Soakfest-type games... Here are some tips concerning OHK games...
7. Be stealthy. Don't let your enemies see you. Does an enemy have his back turned to you? Peg him in the back of the head and move on.
8. Hide behind cover. Always find ways to distort one's profile.
9. When playing at night, you should wear black and/or dark green for night camo. This makes you much harder to see.

More tips: [These are for 1HK]
.Never shoot from the exact same spot twice
.Flank whenever possible
.Always have an escape route
.Use any cover available
.Dodge and force the enemy to waste shots

.Sprint after retreating enemies
.When you retreat, draw the enemy into an area that benefits you
.Use natural obstacles to your advantage
.Never show arrogance
.React to changes in real time
.Move quickly
.Spread out when moving in a large area
.Trick your enemies into a trap via showing fear, intimidation, etc.
.Drive hardest at the enemy flanks
.A well done 3 flank attack will force an enemy to move diagonally from their position
.A well done 2 flank attack will sweep an enemy from a hill
.Do not waste your water
.Don't just use a superior gun; use it effectively
.Unconventional tactics will throw off your enemy
.Do not overestimate the value of intimidation
.Learn how to counter certain moves; every tactic has an effective counter
.Do not underestimate the value of Tactics
.Do not underestimate the value of Positioning

I play soakfests all the time and that never works. Soaking them while they soak you is pointless and will lead to a stalemate. Get them as wet as possible while you stay dry as possible, even if it takes you 2 hours to do it, that's how to get a indisputable victory.

In a Soakfest, that kind of running and shooting crazily like little kids isn't the best way to lower morale. The best way to grind enemy morale to dust in any game format is by wearing them out by refusing to give up the initiative and driving them back via incessent offensives. Only the need to refill should be able to halt this method.
The second best method of lowering morale [again either 1HK or soakfest], is to withdraw to a small position and wait for them to find you, which may take over an hour depending on the size of the battlefield. Not a popular way, but I have turned a 1v4 battle into a 1v1 battle by wearing out 3 members of the other team.

here is somthing else, a great weapon, one of not much much deserved attention:
The Watter Bottle!
no, serious, the watter bottle is one of the greatest weapons to carry with you. when used properley, the watter bottle is a weapon of mass destruction, here are the steps to do dammage with one:
one: pull top (or unscrew, pull tops are more efficiant though,)
two: aim at a close enemy (like, 4, or 5 feet away,)
three: squeeze.
this is best for when your watter gun is best on range, not dammage.

I don't wish to cause offense, but I must admit that some of what has been posted is common sense, or not that advanced/effective.
Different tips apply when trying different tactics.
The best tips I can give are:
Also when you are trying de-moralising tactics, avoid letting them re-gain their morale. Don't let them hit you or feel that in anyway they have won. If they feel that they should have defeated you but didn't then this is really effective - if you defeat them with small soakers and they have massive weapons, then they will be de-moralised.
Unfortunately, de-moralising can be a double edged sword. Some people just feel more determined in these cases, and if they have good leadership skills, woe betide you.
Surprise tactics are nice. If you can hit the enemy first, you have the advantage. However, pick the moment and make sure you hit.
I won't say much more on this, but avoid acting like little kids with waterguns, and act like soldiers with waterguns.

- Don't use one tactic to the exclusion of all else.
- Use the best weapons you have (not most powerful, but "best" - a rather abstract term here, but what ever you have that is best for the job in hand. Sometimes being consverative on your weapons is better
- Never surrender the Initiative. Even if they think they have it, make sure that they don't. Tricking them in to believing this, is highly effective. A good tactic is retreating to draw the enemy into an ambush.
- To avoid the enemy having the Intiative, make sure that every thing you do goes to plan, and never do anything that isn't well planned. If you are at loggerheads over the initiative, then that's better than surrendering it.
- If you have a chain of command - follow it! It's there for a reason.
