Price drop of rare waterguns?

Post by solar00 » Mon Jul 27, 2009 1:30 pm

Hi,

I've noticed that the average prices for waterguns on Ebay are a lot lower than they were a few years ago.
Normally you should expect it to go up as the become more rare with every passing year.
But the opposite seems to be true.
But even with the Monsters and CPS1200/1500/2000/2500 popping up on a regular basis for decent prices, It's still nearly impossible to get my hands on a backpack watergun like the 3000/3200.
Currently owned: Max-D 3000, CPS2100, CPS4100, 2x CPS2500, 2x MonsterXL, Monster X, CPS2000 mkII, CPS3000

I'm thinking that this has to do with a decline in popularity and an increase in the number of people selling things online. I just sold my CPS 2700 for $10.75.

It is mid-summer, the best time to sell is late spring-early summer. Several guns notched record marks earlier in the season, including a couple at the $100 level. CPS 2000 and 2500 prices are definitely lower this year in general. Some of it may be the weak economy.

This winter should be an excellent time to pick up good guns, better than past winters.
