Does anyone have any ideas for different types of water balloons that would actually work?

For example, I thought that if you mixed the water with some corn starch, it would create a sticky substance that is able to be held in the hand if kneaded, but will flow through your fingers when you stop.

Haha nice idea, but it would probably hurt someone quite a bit.
As posted on sscentral you can just twist the top of your balloon, shoot it, and it will unwrap and have a devastating effect having water splash everywhere. In a 1HK it would be quite hard to dodge.

I had another idea - Time Delay water balloons. Just put some baking soda inside each one, fill it up with vineager, tie tightly, and launch! Or, put dry ice and water in it...

This isn't a type of water balloon, but it might be a good launching system.

This is modelled after a sling. You attach a piece of rope to the end of a balloon and swing it around. Eventually, you let go. It will fly in the direction you're aiming at.

What exactly is dry ice? How do you make it or where do you buy it? Also how much is it?

Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide. That is all I know about it. I think it costs about five or ten dollars a pound, but I am not sure. You can check out this site for info. It's a HowStuffWorks page. If you want some more info, check out www.dryiceinfo.com

What's with the new obsession over different water balloon types? Honestly, I wouldn't be in a water balloon fight if somebody's putting other XPBackfire-esque in the balloons (hence the name WATER BALLOON).

Good point. Your options for WATER balloons are either a small balloon or a big one fired from a launcher. anything else and it's not a WATER balloon. <_<

It seems like everyone is so obbsesed with making a giant water balloon, But it won't get you any more wet than a soaker. So, What's the point?

It would lower the enemy's morale. Also, it could be useful in a "kamikazi" attack. Just run up, throw the balloon inside the base, and run. If you knock three people out, and they have twice as many people as you, you could win the war that way.

But, it would mostly just be neat to watch it explode :Hey, that's funny.:

You would never get close enough to throw a giant balloon. They don't go very far, you would have to get in close range of the enemy line. Also, in the face of an attack, a base is often worthless. A smart defender would ditch the base and and take up a position behind natural cover or find a height advantage to slow the attack. You would lose half your force in a "kamikazi" attack facing defenders who know how to defend,, a waste in 1HK, and chances are you will be taking hits before you can launch/throw that large water balloon. If the enemy has "twice as many people as you", use your head, start guerrila warfare, not kamikazi.
