I would like to know what speed you guys operate at because I didn't check the stats for last month and they reset. This information will be used to help improve SSC, make it load faster or even be of a higher quality. ;)

100+kbps cable. At least it's faster than dial-up.
Rereading these forums make me feel old >.<

I've sent my connection speed at home in to the Guinness Book of World Records, they said it's pending under the "Slowest Internet Connection" category... but seriously, while both of my computers have 56K modems, considering the fact that I live in the middle of nowhere and the phone lines here are terrible, it drops to about 21.6K at best.

At least the college T3 servers make up for it...

It appears that a very large majority of SSC's members have cable. However, I will not be iSoaker and have pages that are over 100k big. I took yesterday off to optimize the current SSC code so it's faster. Also, I know you guys will like this, especially those on dial-up, I'm adding g-zip compression to the site. That will speed up download of every page, regardless of what speed they have already. It won't speed up images, but unlike iSoaker most of SSC is text and HTML, so the speed-up will be noticable.

I'll change the discussion (if you haven't, vote in the poll still). What would a good sized page be? Some of SSC's pages have up to 50k of images to download, some have none and are about 4k big. What is your limit on page size? I think that will be more helpful to me.

It's gotta suck to be that one human stuck with 28K. Eugh...

I have DSL. Poor me... it sucks too. It shuts off every 40 minutes and we have to reset it. But the Cable we had was just as bad. The signal wasn't strong enough so the connection would fade in and out.
Whatever music you listen to probably sucks.
