Great CPS 1200 fake gun

Post by -G-JiV- » Thu Mar 10, 2011 8:00 pm

I was browsing through ebay and I found this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/super-soaker-/220 ... 336555d938

And I must admit that I thought this is a CPS 1200, even after I had a closer look^^

It's obviously got copied styling to fool potential buyers. Here's a few things to look out for when purchasing CPS soakers:

- Check for the Super Soaker logo with a "TM" or "Copyright" mark or something.
- Check that the reservoir has a cap on it. All CPS soakers had screw-caps, none were screw-on-reservoirs.
- Compare the stickers on it to a Google Image picture of a genuine example of the model you are looking at.
- Check for the trigger....often, on fakes, the trigger looks weird as your example shows, where the trigger is blue and seems to be oddly placed.

Many fakes have pivoting triggers, as opposed to the more common sliding triggers
Pessimist: These blasters hold no water
Optimist: But their small output means they last just as long
Marketing: Huge blasts of water!
user: I shot it at an angle and it went a whole ten feet!

Lol, I think that's what I was trying to say. XD

I am DEFINATELY not good with my soaker terminology.

That looks cool, but it's obviously a fake - the colors are wrong.

The missing cap is a dead-on giveaway, aside from other details being thrown off.

We all know that this is a fake gun, but aparted from the reservoir cap and the brand, it looks nice^^ It would be cool if there is a real CPS 1200 with these colours :)

I am sure there are people thinking of getting a great blaster when bidding...
